The Catalan company is awarded the construction of Grupo Crío's new feed mill in Mérida, Yucatán.

The Rosal-Mabrik feed mill engineering, design and construction group continues to consolidate its leadership in Mexico. The Catalan company has been awarded the contract for the turnkey development of the new feed plant of Grupo Crío, one of the largest egg and chicken meat producers in the country.

The project will be located at the Mexican company's facilities on the Yucatán Peninsula and will complement the existing plant's production. It will have silos for
raw material storage for 70,000 tons, 4 milling lines and a production capacity of 120 tons per hour. Upon completion, it will become one of the largest feed mills in the world, as well as one of the most modern in terms of machinery and technology.

The plant will be capable of producing up to one million tons per year, one of the largest poultry feed plants in the world.

This investment, the amount of which has not been disclosed, will enable Grupo Crío to continue to grow its integration model, feeding high quality feed to more than 20 million birds every day.

In addition to the new feed mill, a new pelletizing line will also be installed at its existing plant and a tower will be built for the manufacture and storage of whole soybeans, an ingredient that is later incorporated into the feed formulation.

Rosal-Mabrik has an extensive presence in Mexico. Since its entry into the market in the early 1990s, it has designed, built and started up more than 50 feed mills for the country's main agricultural producers.

Other projects in the pipeline

The new Grupo Crío factory is not the only major project that Rosal-Mabrik has added to its order book for 2025. Earlier this year it was announced that a contract for the construction of a macro agro-industrial complex in Kazakhstan was awarded to a consortium of companies led by this family company based in Santa Perpetua de Mogoda (Barcelona).
